Underneath the hurly-burly of symptoms, stress and mental chatter is the quiet ground of our being. We can sometimes experience this as a feeling of flow and vitality, or a sense of being connected to all of nature. Like the sun hidden behind clouds, this inner resource may be obscured by the changing conditions of life, but is always present. With the help of sensitive, listening touch, the body has the opportunity to re-align itself with this natural source of energy, releasing old patterns of pain, emotion or strain and allowing a subtle re-organisation to take place.
During a session you may become aware of warmth, tingling, and things softly moving and changing in your body. You may wish to go deeper into the experience, and be guided to become aware of how your body speaks to you in its own language: sensations, images, half-remembered dreams and flashes of insight. We can then unfold these together, to reveal their usefulness for your everyday life.
Is it possible to have a craniosacral therapy session, without taking part in that inner journey? Yes, of course. Many people find that working with their underlying health not only resolves the condition they came with, but also brings improvement in other areas of life. Others find the sessions profoundly restful and value them for that alone. Everyone’s experience is unique and each session will bring its own insights and rewards.
Everything you see has its roots in the unseen world.
The forms may change, yet the essence remains the same.
Every wonderful sight will vanish; every sweet word will fade,
But do not be disheartened, the source they come from is eternal,
Growing, branching out, giving new life and new joy.
Why do you weep? The source is within you
And this whole world is springing up from it.
