Process Work helps us to find meaning and transformation in the problems we face in our lives, so that those same problems become an unexpected way for something new to emerge. As we work together, you may find that within what seemed to be a meaningless symptom or illness, we discover a connection with what’s happening in the rest of your life. The symptom starts to look like something with a mission to communicate with you, to show you a part of yourself that you weren’t fully aware of. You are becoming more of who you really are. This is what we term your process: the flow of change that is happening in you and around you all the time, and that you often don’t notice until it becomes more insistent and starts to bother you. The problem may also come in the form of emotional distress, conflicts with other people, addictions, nightmares, and feelings of confusion, or other disturbing events and situations in your life. By bringing awareness to what is happening in the moment, we can pick up that process and unravel the meaning that it holds for you. This is the method and purpose of Process Work. Sometimes it’s hard to find words for what we’re suffering. This can be a sign that our lives need attention. If we feel disconnected from our deepest goals and path in life, this can feel like a fogginess or vague dissatisfaction. We can work with these feelings in the same way, to discover the tiny seed of a new direction and help it to grow. However troubling the problem you come with, working together can be enjoyable and uplifting. I approach my work with deep attention and compassion, and I also like to be creative, playful and have fun. Our sessions might include body awareness, movement, drawing, talking, and working with your dreams, as we follow and unfold your process, to where it's leading you. |
